✧˖°Running Out of Space and Wardrobe Collection.°˖✧

After three to four years of somewhat being a 'dedicated' lolita, I have finally reached the point

of limited space in my closet. My lolita clothes were stored in my main closet along side with my normal clothes. At the beginning of 2014, I had declared this year to be: "THE YEAR OF LOLITA". This was the year I would buy more dresses, and it was the year I would actually force myself to attend my first meet up. Yes, I needed to force myself to attend a meet up from my local lolita community. That, I have been aware of for years. I did lack the confidence in my socializing skills to be able to partake in frilly related conversations. It did stop me from reaching out to my community until I had entered a mindset of pushing aside any lolita related insecurities. 

I am grateful that I actually started to interact and attend meet ups because the members in our community are incredibly nice and easygoing. 

Although, I'll never forget the first two people who approached me at my first meet up. The first person was a girl who was only living in Orlando because she was a participant in the Disney's College Program. The second girl was visiting from Canada and the meet up was dedicated to having a chance to meet her. If you can guess it, I was dying of excitement from within as the girl from Canada approached me. I'd like to believe that she most likely felt the anxiety manifesting from me and decided to somehow comfort me with a conversation. It worked, I felt more comfortable and less nervous. The girl who was a CP (that's what we call the college program participants) was also engaging in a lot of conversations with me. I'll never forget how relieved I felt the moment I had a chance to feel at ease. From then on, the meet up ended up being very lovely.

Whoops, I went a bit off topic. 

Going back to the "THE YEAR OF LOLITA" spiel, I have bought more lolita items within 2014 than from within any years prior. Lolita was quickly accumulating in my closet to the point where I was starting to run out of room. It was stressing me out to look over at my closet and see ALL of my clothes crammed together. 

It was also more difficult to find a particular shirt or blouse when all of my clothes were jammed together. 

Around a week and a half ago, I decided to invest in a portable wardrobe.

While transferring my lolita stuff to the new wardrobe, I decided to take photos of my dress collection and post them on here.

 This will also act as a good way for me to keep track of print names and such.

Buying a portable wardrobe for lolita was truly a life saver. 

It certainly isn't as cute as other ones I've seen, but I still love it.

My closest looks a tad bit better.

Also, I never knew the name of the Innocent World dress until this post.

I spent quite some time trying to find the name of that specific JSK. 

I'm glad now I know it's name!

Lolita Photo Dump: September through November [2014]

This is a post dedicated to photos of lolita outfits that I have worn for the past three months. 

I do not wear lolita that often. Simply, when the opportunity calls for it or whenever I am in the mood.  There are also a few photos from two meet ups I had attended.

My 1st Attempt at Shironuri.✧˖ °

After a year or two of admiring shironuri's, I did what I needed to do. 

I did a bit of research on theatrical makeup, tried to come up with an outfit, and took

a deep breath while hoping for the best on my first attempt. 

This is somewhat a continuation of my previous post. 

Looking back at the pictures, I realized that I should most likely try to experiment with different types of theatrical makeup. Also, I FORGOT TO BUY GLOVES. When I had attempted this look, I did not step outside of my room and bathroom. This was purely an experimental experience and when I improve I will be able to feel more comfortable with exposing myself more in shironuri.  For the white base,  I used Mehron's Clown White Makeup.  So far, I do really like the durability that this makeup provides.  I can last hours with this stuff on. I can use a little amount of the product and it evenly covers my entire face. The only issues I had that the white makeup does start to crease around my eyelids. Overall, I need to venture out into the world of theater makeup. I need to see the type of

products that exist out there that can be compatible with shironuri.  I have also tried Ben Nye's Clown White Makeup as well and it is exactly the same type of product as Mehron's Clown White Makeup. 

Another important aspect that needs to drastically improve is the lack of originality. The ram horns, the questionable theme, the "plainness", the headband and the outfit do not naturally blend well ... I've been possibly staring at images of Minori for so long that shironuri has transformed itself into something beyond just "white face makeup" for me. I would love to create a form of my own self-expression with shironuri, just like Minori has.

So, in conclusion to my first attempt, I feel proud of myself for actually trying shironuri.

My next step is to keep explore, learn and experiment more with this style. 

I'm juggling between improving my lolita style and improving my personal life.

Shironuri will be treated as a side project and I do hope that it eventually becomes more than that.

At around late October I had the chance to finally try out Shironuri. 

What is Shironuri? Here's how it has been defined on Wikipedia:

"Shironuri literally means 'painted in white'. It is so called because people who dress in the shironuri style wear white makeup. This is the only rule of shironuri, although traditional Japanese fashion elements (kimonos, hakama, etc.) are common, as well as elements of gothic lolita style. Minori is a well-known shironuri artist who has been interviewed by Tokyofashion.com."

Let's take a quick look at this well-known shironuri artist, Minori:

Her multiple looks are breath taking, are they not? She takes her role as a shironuri very seriously.

One of the main quirks about her that I admire is the fact that she has an infatuation with

nature. She has taken a whole different approach to the style; From your usual 'goth-ish' inspired shironuri looks to a more captivating in essence looks.
